Principles of use

 

1. The closer the placement position is to the casting cavity, the better to reduce the probability of secondary oxidation;

2. The design of the pouring system is simple, without considering other slag retaining measures, which can improve the utilization rate of sand mold and process yield;

3. The working area of the filter should be 4 to 6 times the choke section of the pouring system to ensure that the pouring speed is not affected;

4. According to the type of casting alloy and pouring temperature, the corresponding filter should not be used over temperature;

5. Select the right aperture to really play a filtering effect;

6. Filter can not be used to control the pouring speed.

Select the porosity of the filter according to the type of cast iron to be filtered, generally 10ppi for ductile iron; 20ppi for gray cast iron; 30ppi for malleable cast iron; The filtration area is determined by the weight of the filtered cast iron.

 

Correct application

 

① Filter metal liquid inflow surface, straight runner design for open system. Effective use of filter area;
② The filter has a suitable gap. When it is placed, the filter can prevent rubbing sand with the side of the sand mold and pressing sand together with the box to prevent falling scattered sand particles from being brought into the mold;
③ The metal outflow surface of the filter should be left with a supporting width of ≥5mm, which effectively plays the role of pouring pressure support during pouring.
