Benefits of Quartz Glass

Good light transmittance
Quartz glass has good light transmission performance from ultraviolet light to infrared light, and the visible light transmittance is as high as 90%.

Good high temperature resistance
Quartz glass has a very high melting point, about 1700 degrees Celsius. Quartz glass can be used at a high temperature of 1100 degrees Celsius for a long time, and if used for a short time, the temperature can reach 1400 degrees Celsius.

Good chemical resistance
Quartz glass hardly reacts with any acid (except HF), and the chemical stability of quartz glass is also excellent under high temperature conditions.

Good thermal stability
Quartz glass has a small thermal expansion coefficient and can withstand huge temperature changes. Even if it is heated to 1100 degrees Celsius and put into water, it will not crack.

Good electrical insulation
Quartz glass has an excellent resistance value, which is tens of thousands of times that of ordinary glass, so it is also a good insulating material.

Types of Quartz Glass

Classify according to appearance

Quartz glass can be divided into two categories: transparent and opaque. Transparent quartz glass can be divided into ordinary quartz glass, high-purity quartz glass, and doped quartz glass.

Classify according to product shape

Quartz glass can be divided into pipes/tubes, bars/rods, plates, crucibles, bell covers, and lamp products, as well as quartz glass fiber and quartz wool.

Quartz Glass Tube

Classify according to special functions

There are low expansion quartz glass, radiation resistant quartz glass, UV or infrared transparent quartz glass, UV filtered quartz glass, etc.

Classify according to manufacturing methods

Quartz glass can be divided into natural quartz glass and synthetic quartz glass. Natural quartz glass is made by melting natural crystals or silica material made in high temperatures. Synthetic quartz glass is made by flame hydrolysis synthesis using inorganic or organic liquid compounds containing silicon.

Application of Quartz Glass

Optics and Photonics
Quartz glass is widely used in optics and photonics due to its high transparency in the UV, visible, and IR spectra. It is utilized in lenses, windows, prisms, mirrors, and waveplates for various optical systems, including lasers, microscopes, telescopes, and spectroscopy equipment. Quartz glass is also used in photolithography masks for semiconductor manufacturing, as well as in optical fibers for telecommunications and data communication.

Semiconductor Industry
Quartz glass is a critical material in the semiconductor industry due to its high purity, high temperature resistance, and chemical inertness. It is used in the production of semiconductor wafers, as wafer carriers in high-temperature processing, and in various wafer handling and processing equipment. Quartz glass is also used in the production of quartz boats, tubes, and crucibles for semiconductor manufacturing processes such as CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) and diffusion.

High-Temperature Applications
Quartz glass is widely used in high-temperature applications due to its excellent thermal properties. It is used in furnaces, ovens, and lamps for heating, melting, and annealing processes. Quartz glass is also used in aerospace components, rocket nozzles, and exhaust systems where high-temperature resistance and dimensional stability are crucial.

Chemical Processing
Quartz glass is highly resistant to most chemicals, making it ideal for use in chemical processing equipment. It is used in reactors, pipes, and valves for handling corrosive chemicals, acids, and bases. Quartz glass is also used in analytical instruments, such as spectrometers and chromatographs, where its chemical inertness ensures accurate and reliable results.

Medical and Biotechnology
Quartz glass is used in various medical and biotechnology applications due to its biocompatibility, UV transparency, and chemical inertness. It is used in UV lamps for disinfection and sterilization in medical and laboratory settings. Quartz glass is also used in DNA sequencers, spectrometers, and analytical instruments in biotechnology research and diagnostics.

Q: Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?

A: We are a manufacturer, our factory is in Zhengzhou city, Henan Province, China.

Q: How many pieces of the samples do you supply one time?

A: We can do 1 piece sample as customer's drawing or detailed size.

Q: Do you accept OEM or ODM?

A: Yes, we support OEM or ODM.

Q: Do you offer custom products?

A: We supply custom products according to customer's drawing or detailed inquiry.
If customer want us to supply some suggestion and please contact us, we can discuss your inquiry together.

Q: What kind of the product can you offer?

A: We supply refractory and high temperature materials, Such as ceramic parts, quartz glass parts, metal materials and others.

Q: Can we have a visit to your factory?

A: You Are Welcome To Visit Our Factory At Anytime, We Will Arrange Professional Reception Personnel To Patiently Explain To You.

Q: What is the difference between glass and quartz glass?

A: Quartz is crystalline solid with long range order and glass is amorphous solid (or psuedo solid or super cooled liquid) with short range order and has a tendency to flow. When quartz is heated, it can be converted into glass.

Q: How do you clean quartz glass?

A: There are slight stains on the surface of quartz glass and it is difficult to wipe directly with water. Soak in 10% hydrofluoric acid or lotion, then wash with high purity water or alcohol. Wear fine gloves during operation, and do not touch quartz glass directly with hands.

Q: What are the components of quartz glass?

A: During the manufacture of quartz glass, quartz sand is poured into a vertical furnace. The material is melted in crucibles inside the furnace and drawn through a nozzle to rods or plates. A mandrel shaft is also used in the production of a quartz glass rod.

Q: What is the process of making quartz glass?

A: Quartz sand is melted in an electric arc furnace, producing a vitreous material with gaseous micro-bubbles that cause light diffraction and impart opacity to the glass. The resulting glass ingots are crushed, molded into parts, then dried and sintered.
